When I saw that grey ribbed NATO on the FXD, I had to have one for mine!

Been an avid reader of those straps guides!
Great work, keep it up!
I have to bring up something though (that kind of break my heart as a Frenchman), the Pelagos FXD MN has been a collaboration with the FRENCH navy (Marine Nationale) not the Italian one. In Italian by the way the name of its navy is Marina Militare (MM).

No, not funny. I’m right handed and wear my watch on right wrist. Perfectly comfortable for me.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience and insights on wearing a watch on the left wrist! It’s fascinating to hear how you initially wore your watch on the right wrist as a kid but switched to the left wrist based on the traditional advice.

Your point about the accessibility of the crown makes a lot of sense. Indeed, most watches are designed with the crown on the right side to make it easier to adjust with the right hand when worn on the left wrist. As you mentioned, there have been exceptions, especially with some “ladies” watches that have the crown on the left side to accommodate right-handed wearers.

In recent times, watch manufacturers have become more creative with crown placements, and it’s true that there’s now a wider variety of designs available. Your rule of thumb to wear the watch with the crown toward your hand, rather than your elbow, is a practical guideline for ensuring comfort and ease of use.

It’s clear that you have a strong preference for watches with the crown on the right, and the U-Boat Capsoil (dopiotempo) with the white dial has caught your eye. We understand that personal preferences play a significant role in choosing a watch, and it’s essential to find one that suits your style and comfort.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your enthusiasm for watches. We hope you find the perfect timepiece that matches your criteria and brings you joy!

Comment on 5 Reasons Why We Love Mechanical Watches by Chris https://watchbandit.com/5-reasons-why-we-love-mechanical-watches/#comment-495521 Mon, 04 Sep 2023 10:39:03 +0000 https://watchbandit.com/?p=229866#comment-495521 In reply to Steve.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, and we appreciate your comment on our article about why mechanical watches are loved.

You’ve highlighted an important aspect of watches that often goes beyond mere timekeeping – the aesthetics and the emotional connection they can create. Many people view their watches as pieces of jewelry, and the beauty and craftsmanship of a mechanical watch can indeed make one feel special and enhance their overall style.

Your opinion is entirely valid and personal, and that’s what makes the world of watches so diverse and interesting. Mechanical watches are known for their intricate movements, attention to detail, and timeless designs, which can certainly contribute to a sense of elegance and beauty.

Ultimately, the choice between mechanical and quartz watches comes down to individual preferences and what one values most in a timepiece. We’re glad to hear that mechanical watches hold a special place in your heart and enhance your personal style. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

The purpose of my watch isn’t to tell to-the-second accurate time – I have my phone for that. The purpose of my watch is to be a beautiful piece of jewelry that makes me feel pretty. And in my opinion (which doesn’t apply to anyone but myself), mechanical watches are more beautiful and make me feel more pretty than quartz watches.
