Every chronometer movement has been meticulously tested for its accuracy by COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. Only 3% of the entire Swiss watch production goes through this 15-day certification process.

The dial consists of a whole piece of the inner shell layer of a Pinctada maxima, also called "silver-lipped pearl shell", which can reach a diameter of up to 30 centimeters. While mother-of-pearl is said to be fragile, it is in fact one of the strongest shields that nature has produced. Pearls are also made of this material. The result is a beautifully sparkling and iridescent pearly white appearance that remains hidden in the dark but reveals its fullest beauty when the light hits the dial.

The Essence ThirtyNine is powered by a COSC-certified Sellita SW200 caliber, which in this version is equipped with high-quality components such as a Glucydur balance, which is exceptionally hard and stable, very resistant to deformation and has antimagnetic properties. The movement is fully decorated, has thermally blued screws and is wound by a skeletonized rotor specially made by Formex. Each caliber in the ThirtyNine collection is subjected to a meticulous 15-day test by the COSC (the Official Swiss Chronometer Institute) to ensure exceptional levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.

With this dial made from an extraterrestrial rock called Muonionalusta, you have over 4 billion years of history on your wrist. This meteorite impacted the Earth's atmosphere in an area north of the Arctic Circle about four ice ages ago. Special processing and treatment is required to create the dial in order to bring out the characteristic features of this iron meteorite. The beautiful equilateral triangles that form the Widmanstätten pattern are the result of very slow cooling over millions of years, changing the crystalline structure of the minerals in the asteroid's core. Since the textures are organic and cannot be artificially reproduced, each individual dial is an absolute one-off. The watch, limited to just 88 pieces, is equipped with a high-precision, COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement. It has the same proven and patented features as the ultra-light ceramic/carbon Essence Leggera line, such as the Case Suspension System and a carbon fiber folding clasp with a unique micro-adjustment system that adapts perfectly to the changing size of the wrist due to heat and humidity.

Limited to just 100 pieces per year, this Special Edition features a captivating green dial which is made from the precious stone malachite. The name is said to derive from the Ancient Greek word ‘malache’, which means mallow, as the stone closely resembles the color of the leaves of the mallow plant. Malachite’s spiritual meaning is one of transformation and is said to be the ‘Essence of Joy’. Without going too deep into its metaphysical properties, we feel that by just looking at the malachite’s swirls, rings and intricate marbling is rejuvenating and uplifting.

Built to last, the Formex Field uses the sturdiest of available materials and a colorful selection of highly legible dials. The 41mm case and crown are made entirely from titanium grade 2. A special hardening treatment increases the Fields surface hardness from 145 Vickers to approximately 900 Vickers while retaining the light weight, comfort and hypoallergenic properties of titanium. The recessed numbers and hour markers give the dial a visible depth that is elevated by the curved outer chapter section. Numbers, markers and the brushed hands are hand-filled with old radium (100% safe) Super LumiNova that emits a bright yellowish-green at night. Adding a mere 5g to the case weight of 65g, the nylon velcro strap is durable and comfortable on the wrist. The leather straps come with Formex’s carbon composite clasp with a patented 7mm fine-adjustment. With a water resistance of 150 meters, the Formex Field Automatic is the perfect watch for any mission.
